Welcome & Updates
Harlow people~
Okay the interviews are officially over! If you are still checking out this blog, you are most probably one of those people who passed, seeing that you are so enthu haha! However, if you did not, do not be disappointed, this is not personal. We simply feel you can do better by concentrating in other areas with your strengths and we sincerely wish that you will succeed in them.
Okay to all our new members, first and foremost, welcome!
You had passed the scary interviews haha. But just so you know, the interviews were not planned to scare all of you (at least for most of the parts, it was not:D)- we generally want to know all of you better and why you want to join the club.
Next, your first official Interact event will be the Interact orientation camp on 15th March 2010(Monday of March Holidays). This camp is made compulsory for all new Interactors and is basically for all of you to get to know each other and your seniors and to have fun! So, do come to have a good start in Interact! Consent forms will be handed out soon.
Next's up, Yishun JC Interact Club will be holding a "Know Thy eye" quiz this saturday, 27 Feb 2010 at their school's auditorium from 9.30am-12.30pm. They are inviting interactors from others school to attend and we are invited! This quiz is held in conjuction with YJC annual fund-raising carnival, Celebrating Values Day 2010. It aims to educate students from sec schools and JCs about avoidable blindness and the importance of taking care of our eyes. The quiz will be in the format of pen and paper quiz, and consists of simple eye care questions and no special prior knowledge is required. There will also be a lecture on basic eye care matters by a Optometry lecturer from Spore Poly as well as enriching eye-related activities for the participants.
If you are interested, please email Joan to register. The deadline for registration will be this friday. You can really consider joining it, it looks fun, is pretty large scale, supported by many charity organisations and the prizes are pretty attractive- $100, $80 and $50 for the top 3 participants, as well as 15 other consolation prizes will be given. Furthermore, you are also invited to join in their school's Celebrating Values Day carnival and visit their food/game stores, that will all be donating their proceeds to charity. What's more, this is also a good opportunity for all of you to make friends with interactors from other schools, and have a look at some of Interact Clubs' large scale events. So, do consider signing up for it.
Okay, that's all we have for now. However, last but not least, congrats and welcome again! All of you are now officially interactors! Till we meet at the orientation~

Interview Sessions
Dear SH1s,
Interact will be having our interviews sessions next week from Monday to Wednesday.
Okay okay, while that may sound scary, this is actually just a session for us to get to know you more and is sort of a way how we start things off every year. Fret not, it will be an informal event and we promise we wouldn't bite (for now) haha. So, no worries and do come relaxed.
The list of the timeslot and location allocated to each of you will be emailed to all of you soon by this weekend. A copy will also be placed at our noticeboard outside LT1 by Monday for those who cannot access the internet. Please do check them for your interview timing and venue before your interview.
Next, in case you were wondering after the welcome tea when or how to select your scheme, you will be receiving a form to select it during your interview. So, it will be wise to start considering your preference now. The 5 schemes available are HELP, Orange, FP, MCYC and LAP.
Lastly, should you have any more questions you would like to ask about Interact or CCAs in general, you can drop us an email or simply tag in the chatbox. We will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Welcome Tea Session For SH1s
This is the email that has been sent out to those who had signed up with us during CCA carnival:
Hello SH1s,
There will be a welcome tea session for NJC Interact Club.
Date: 17th Feb 2010(Next Wed)
Time: 3.20pm - 4.30pm
Venue: LT3
This session is for you all to really get to know what Interact is about, what are our activities, what local or overseas cips we offer to you,what major club events you can expect to participate in if you join Interact.
This is all so that you can make an informed decision on whether to join Interact!
After the briefing, you all can then confirm whether you would really like to join Interact and sign up officially on that day.
Then your life as a NJC interactor begins... and there will be a series of events lined up for you after that. Hah.
Anyway, please reply to our secretary elaine if you would be attending this event as we will be providing refreshments to all those present. Supposed you didn't sign up with Interact during CCA carnival (or have a friend who didn't do so) but would like to see what's Interact about, you(or your friend) can still join this event too. Just send our secretary Elaine an email to tell her you are going. Her email can be found on the right ->
