Interact Membership
SH2? Interested to join Interact? The dead line for acceptance of members for interested SH2s of year 2010 will be 11th Jan 2010. This is to facilitate the coordination of our external cip schemes and to stop before A levels. The criteria for admission and continuation of Interact is as such:
1) 75% attendance for weekly external CIP scheme
2) General Meeting Attendance (considered seperately)
To note: Nj Interact currently offers 5 external CIP schemes, of which members must join one scheme(min). The schemes info can be found below. With regards, 40th exco.
1. MCYC
Location: Bukit Batok
Time: 4.30pm- 6pm (Tuesday) 1.30pm-3pm (Saturday)
Day: Every Tuesday and Saturday (Choose either one)
Tuition Befriending programme- Teach tuition to under privileged kids/youth of bukit batok
2. FP- Foster Parenting (No vacancies left)
Location: Bukit Batok
Time: 8am – 1pm
Day: Every Saturday
A series of training workshops conducted on one or two Saturday morning every month. It is to equip Foster Parents, under the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS)’s Foster Parents Scheme, with the necessary skills and knowledge of providing care for foster children under them.
Volunteers will help with the following areas on the day of the workshop:
· Registration and Ushering
· Running children’s programme for:
· Baby Group: Infants to 2 years old
· Junior Group: 3 years old to 6 years old
· Senior Group: 7 years old and above
Volunteers also do post administration work such as sending out the invitations, calling them to RSVP the following session and marking their attendance.
3. LAP- Learn and Play programme
Location: Blk 718 Woodlands Ave 6 Care Corner Family Service Centre (Admiralty) opposite Admiralty MRT station
Day: Saturday
Time: 10am-12pm
- Learn through games
Participants are students in P4,5,6 from low income families with the potential to do better in their studies.
4. HELP
Location: Ang mo kio
Time: 3-4.30 (Tuition) 3-6 (Playgroup)
Day: Every Saturday
- Tuition programme or playgroup (take care of little kids). The children are from single parent families/ divorced parents etc
5. ORANGE
Location: Clementi
Time: Teaching old folks english (Tuesday 4.30-5.30pm)
Playgroup (Tuesday 4.30-5.30pm)
Day: Tuesday
