IMPT!

1. Firstly, Promo is over, so I hope you all will shift your focus back to Interact and the projects we have to handle. For those for you who do not know, each comm. is supposed to do 2 projects in our term of service-which is this year till next year June. Apparently, all of our comm. has not done any projects because after installation it is already very close to promo date. So, the original gm on 10.10.07 is to update on our future projects of each comm. but since we do not have it because of early dismissal please read the mail thoroughly.

2. Each comm. matters:

Funding comm.: carry out a fund raising for the tsunami hit Khao Lak for now and then for next yr, it will be feb's valentine funding project.

Club. Serv.: Club welfare
- Ongoing: IMH visit i/c: jingxian
This is a project of Rotary of Singapore West club serv. director, Wahid, we are only helping them out by providing them with 10 volunteers. It is to provide our service to go there and decorate the ward for Christmas. It is a one-time event. Date is not settled yet.
- Encouragement gifts for J2s by 24th oct
As the JC2s exams are coming, we are planning to make them little gifts to help them jiayous!
- NOV /DEC (to plan): Orientation 1
- NEXT YEAR(to work on O1 proposal): Orientation 2

IU :
- Ongoing: next june CEBU cip trip
- Amigos camp in mar 08 (to plan in jan & feb 08)

Comm. Serv.:
- St joseph home visit in Jan

Each comm. is supposed to send out two representatives for the IMH visit in Dec, it is to help decorate one of the wards for the Christmas season, the date is not finalised yet so do wait for further details! In-charge will be jingxian but do tell your comm. heads first if you are interested. (:

Comm. heads will be calling you all up for meetings for each individual comm. to settle their own project, please turn up and participate. Joining a CCA is a commitment and since we are doing meaningful stuffs, give your unwavering support to make it a success.

3. This is to the AD elects only, please meet me for a short while on Tuesday (30th October 2007) morning-7.25am @ atrium- for a short briefing. I am supposed to inform you all to plan for 2 events for this coming holiday so please try to make it. Give me a sms beforehand to inform me if you cannot come.

4. Next gm is on the 24th Oct 07, 9.15am @ LT3. EVERYONE is to be present. This is a very important gm. Attendance is compulsory, those who are not present are expected to produce a MC. No other reasons is entertained and your attendance for this whole year will definitely be affected somehow somewhat. So full attendance is expected of every comm.

to all lap vounteers!

TO ALL LAP VOLUNTEERS!

PROMOS have finally ended! jonathan and i will like to wish you the bestest best luck though promos are over. hee. now that PROMOS are over, its time to get our heads back into LAP. there're a few big events coming up. so do take note! (notice that i cant get past the fact tt promos are over. lol!)

#1 LAP Session on 1 Sept 2007

jonathan has feedbacked to me that the last session of term 3 is quite disorganized. the main prob encountered is tt the volunteers are unaware of what to do. i would like apologise for my absence cos i've got chem makeup lesson in sku. so let bygones be bygones. and we'll improve in future! things to take note for each session: first, if you're unable to turn up on any of the sat, pls let me know in advance, preferably by thurs so that the lesson can be planned smoothly. (if you can foresee tt you'll be sick, pls let me know too! haha) second, organisers for each week's lesson are to send jonathan the lesson plan by fri 5pm so tt he can prepare the materials. those who do not know his email, its jonathantoh@carecorner.org.sg. last, organisers cannot be late on the sat itself bcos they have to brief the others wad to do. so normally, i'll pass down a relay sys msg reminding everyone wad time (normally 9.30am) to turn up.

#2 P6 One-to-One Tuition

previously, jonathan has requested our help in giving tuition to P6 lap kids in preparation for their PSLE. i passed down a relay sys msg asking if anyone was interested. but turns out that some of you didnt receive it. nvm! just an update. there were 2 sessions actually, but as they are very near our promos, i gathered tt no one is interested and told jonathan tt we couldnt make it.

#3 Term 4 LAP

term 4 lap will officially commence on the 20th Oct, and last for 7 consecutive Sats. they are three major events coming up so far, namely Food Galore on the 20th (this is not the real name. i anyhow give name for easy reference :x), Big Lap Sale and Farewell Party for our Seniors and P6 LAP kids. Foor Galore, i'll explain in detail below. the two other events, we 'll discuss some other day (maybe during GMs/ LAP sessions). basically, i'll need an IC for each of the event and we'll need to set a date for the event and plan wad will happen on the actual day.

#4 Food Galore

this event, as said above, will be held on the 20th. on that sat, we'll have normal lap session till 12. but we'll be having games, and no lessons, bcos some non-lap kids will be joining us. there'll be a total of bout 30 kids so we'll have to discuss tgt wad games we'll play tt day during the next meeting. after 12, hotel chefs will be coming down to the centre to cook for the kids. so we also get to enjoy the good food. SO, i strongly urge everyone to be present since there'll be good food and most imptly, i need ppl to manage the large crowd! thank you! (:

#5 3 Nov 2007 Excursion with LAP Kids

CIP hours will be rewarded as usual. thanks for the overwhelming response. im so sorry to say tt the organisation only allow 5 volunteers to join in the fun and jonathan has requested for me to go and for ppl who can represent NJC and LAP as there'll be big shots there. i've chosen the following 5 ppl based on their attendance and enthusiasm level. sorry to those who're not chosen. pls understand tt its not against you or sth! i assure you tt there'll be other opportunities! the following 4 ppl: yangyan, rachel, yeeyan and huiyan, pls check your email for more details. as for the shirt size, jonathan has ordered XS for all of us cos the shirt is quite big.

#6 Miscellaneous Stuff for Term 3 LAP

on our next meeting, i'll need you all to check your attendance for term 3 lap, so pls recall how many sessions you've attended. i apologise for holding on to some of your indemity forms and passport size photos. i'll pass to jonathan on the 20th. sorry! for those of you, who havent pass jonathan your passport size photos, rmb to bring on the 20th. those who still do not have indemity forms, tell me asap. thank you!
